In Regular Swiss you need to set these games to 8 rounds at all times. This allows for someone to be a winner. If you set them for only 3 rounds or 4 rounds, and you have 12 players in them, you may end up with a tie for first place. Regular Swiss is designed for the purpose of having 1 winner. You most likely will not play all 8 rounds but it will keep going untill you do have a winner. In a True Swiss, you will set these from 3-8 rounds. require to host this) You may not always have a distinct winner in these games. The benefits of hosting a True Swiss, is that you can set the game to last a specific amount of rounds. These types of Tournament is also great for hosting a special game where you might want more rounds...so say you are hosting a tournament where you want to do 3 rounds in one game, then move to another game and do 3 more rounds..you can do this and be assured of being able to play all rounds. If you make a mistake on this, you can fix it by going to your td page for that Tournament, clicking on "Edit Tournament info" and inside there, on the left hand side you will see "Rounds" change it from the drop down menu to the amount of rounds you need, and then add or delete times in 10 minute increments just above the "change tournament info" button. There you will find drop down menus of times. Make sure to check that the am and pms are correct also. |
